If you’ve never read any Laurens Van Der Post, I highly recommend it. Pick up a copy of The Hunter and The Whale if you happen to see it. You don’t be disappointed.

I was never a fan of Generation A, but if you like Coupland’s writing style you should definitely check out Generation X.
Generation X was fantastic. One of my favourite books. I liked Generation A, personally, but it certainly not as good as his first.
